Put a gun in your hand for these guys, because most of the time, the knives will bounce right off. NOTE: this isn't as effective against robot enemies. That's because of its poor range, though if a target is close enough, you can easily take him out with a knife throw. In addition, you can throw knives, but this isn't nearly as accurate a weapon as your silenced handgun. Either pick them off with a headshot using a silenced pistol, or walk (don't run!) over and stab them quickly with a tap of the R3 button. Try to single out guards that have their backs turned to you, or a patroller that doesn't see you coming. Otherwise they'll trigger an alarm and bring reinforcements your way. You'll want to sneak up on guards that don't suspect your presence. Wolfenstein: The New Order has terrific stealth gameplay, one that rewards you if you play your cards right. Other weapons are available, but these main ones will be your best bet to stay out of trouble. Try to save this weapon for when it really counts, ideally when surrounded or facing the larger robot in the hangar midway through.
On the downside, however, when in gun mode, the cutter will quickly run out of ammunition, and you'll need to find a recharge point to fill it up again.

On the plus side, this gun is powerful enough to bring large enemies down to size – and it evaporates Nazis into soup with one shot.

There's a pro and con side to this, however. You can turn this into a powerful assault weapon by flicking to the right on the d-pad. Just remember you won't be as accurate, and you’ll need to reload often.įinally, you'll find a modified laser cutter midway through the game. On the ground, though, it's greatly effective – and even better if you're dual-wielding.
If you have soldiers pinning you down from a higher ledge, this isn't the weapon to get the job done. This sucker packs a punch, shredding Nazis up close and even doing damage to those further away. The automatic shotgun is your best bet for up close combat. However, you'll want to be careful dual-wielding, as it takes more time to reload, and you're not always going to be accurate, since your left hand will hold a gun instead of letting you aim down sight. You can also draw it quickly if you need to take out automated turrets, and it can do great damage to the smaller robots and dogs in the game. This is a good beginning weapon to have when it comes to taking out enemies from long range. You'll start out small with a knife and pistol, but eventually you'll get to the better guns in the game.įirst up is the assault rifle. Over the course of your journey in Wolfenstein: The New Order, you'll get your hands on a lot of weapons. Hold on tight, because this is going to be a wild ride.
